Why the name “Exodus?”
exodus - a journey together
The first exodus began over 4000 years ago in the land of Egypt when the Hebrew people were living in slavery.
God set them free. Free to leave behind a story of oppression and slavery and instead journey together into a new land and a new story of promise and freedom - where they finally become the life-giving people God dreamed they could be.
So an exodus is all about a journey together - a group of ordinary people leaving behind what is familiar and taking steps that are often uncomfortable, inconvenient, stretching, and risky and moving together toward a new kind of life with God.

church - eternity starts now
Jesus’ message and invitation was more than just the promise of heaven in the afterlife. Jesus dreamed of and prayed for a diverse community of spiritual friends and mentors who together share a devoted friendship with Him and to His life-giving way of life. His prayer is that this community of faith and mission (which we call the church) be distinctive by our love for each other and our love for the poor and disenfranchised.

for bloomington - release life
We love Bloomington because Jesus loves Bloomington. Jesus has a dream for Bloomington. He dreams of…
- a community where every man, woman, and child have access to life with God — a life full of the passion, integrity, forgiveness, goodness, and intimacy that comes through friendship with Him.
- a community where people call out to God through prayer and worship.
- a community where all Christ-centered churches support one another.
- a community where His justice and mercy are extended to the poor and needy, the elderly, those with HIV, orphans, the homeless, and the unborn.
